Traveling against Uncle Sam's wishes

Bobby Fischer has been in trouble ever since he traveled to Yugoslavia to play chess in 1992. He is now in jail in Japan because he was traveling with a fake passport. However, he is getting a real one from Finland.

If he ever gets out of Japan he'll be able to travel in the Schengen countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Greece, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.

Not too cool traveling with a fake passport. At the same time, it is less cool for any country to not allow its citizens to travel to what ever country they choose to visit.
If those citizens pose no threat to the countries they plan to visit, godspeed to them. Any country laying down embargos against another without fear of retaliation because of its military might, only, is a bully at its lowest form.

It's not that simple. Our country places embargos on other countries for a reason. As citicizens living under the protection of our government, we are expected to follow its rules. If we don't like it, then we vote the bums out of office.

Yugoslavia was under an embargo due to its ethnic cleansing policies. The embargo was placed there as leverage for the Serbs to stop their practice. Fischer violated travel restricitons to make a quick buck. He deserves what he gets.
