Sanitation on cruise ships
I recently wrote about how cruise prices are increasing. ABC is also covering cruises, and had a Primetime Live segemnt on cruise ship cabins. What they found was nasty:
...they found other things that were disgusting, though not actually dangerous to your health — dried semen and urine on blankets, furniture, and walls in each of the cabins in which they stayed.I'm not ready to say that taking a cruise isn't a good travel idea, but this will make some people think twice about going on a cruise... Posted by James Trotta at February 26, 2005 3:01 PMFor example, on one cruise ship headed to the Bahamas, an ultraviolet lamp exposed dried urine by the door handle and on the vanity stool. Dried semen was on the carpet and on the blanket. The cabin cost nearly $2,000 a week.
Air Jamaica flight? Beware.
My wife and I returned yesterday from Jamaica. Not the day before as Air Jamaica promised and which I paid for.Air Jamaica without warning cancelled our return flight to the Ohare airport in Chicago and gave us a twice delayed flight to Atlanta, after more HOURS of misery, hunger and anger, we were given seats on A Delta Jet for O'hare. SO if you are Even thinking about flying Air Jamaica pack a lunch, extra clothes several books, extra money and PRAY. Have a nice trip.
Well...I've never flown to Jamaica before, so I can't really complain. The last time I flew was in the United States, and that was to go to Basic Training for the US Army. I had nothing to really complain about. I was just very nervous about attending training.
