AA contest
American Airlines is having a contest - the very cool prize is free travel for a year, but it will probably be hard for non artists to win: you have to use words, pictures, or video to explain why you fly. Even if you don't win, 100 AAdvantage miles are donated to the Make a Wish foundation for every entry so that's good.

Posted by: kerry ann milton at March 9, 2005 1:10 AMTraveling is the one thing in my life that gave me the confindence I always desired. Going across the country twice by myself was by far the most rewarding experience of my life. Having real life adventures, meeting incredible people and seeing amazing places opened my mind and soul to the beauty of this world. I am 28 years of age and my dream is to travel to every state, there's only 14 left! Winning this contest could help me fulfill this dream and experience the wonders of exciting new places.

With 7 sisters and 2 brothers, my parents didn't have the means to go on vacation. Now that I have 2 young girls myself, I would love to give them what I didn't have. Thats all.

Posted by: Daniel J. Fennessy at March 9, 2005 9:56 AMMy wife and I have retired to Colorado.
Twice a year we fly back to Ohio to see our son. Being able to fly free for a year would certainly help reduce the burden on our retirement income.
I always had the opportunity to travel as a child. I am now grown and have two children of my own. My husband and I aren't well off and we always dream of the places we want to take the children to expand their culture, imagination, education, and develop friendships and relationships throughout. My husband has never been on a plane and has never seen the ocean. I would love to be able to take him to see the ocean and share the love I developed for it. I want my family to feel the freedom and peace I felt as a child when the waves came splashing up on my feet and legs. I want my family to feel that love of air and earth that you just can't find anywhere else but in the mountains or sitting on the edge of the Grand Canyon. I guess in simple words, I want my husband and children to experience all of the joys of travel as I have had the opportunity to do. If I won free travel for a year that's exactly what I would do. I would make sure that they got to experience our countries land marks and historical sights. And have fun doing it!

I read something not long ago that hit me right between the eyes. The article stated that "people are so busy trying to survive their life that their soul sometimes forgets how to live" and that is me. Truthfully, I think it is anyone in the USA these days. We forgot how to live.
The usual doldrums of the day and by the end of the week, who am I? Living above and wanting more....
I can't afford to travel alot, so to be able to fly anywhere for free would sure help me to remember how to live life and enjoy it for a change, instead of just trying to survive my life.
