For domestic travel, I've had good luck with www.vrbo.com. (Vacation Rental by Owner.) It's a cheap way to get condos/homes in most tourist spots. I've done it for about 10 years in Colorado during ski trips and once in Florida. No problems. Always nice places and nice owners.
