Trang Thailand: caves, beaches, authentic Thai experience
Thai Day recommends Trang as one place where "Unseen Thailand" really exists:
The town is mostly made up of shophouses and small eateries – uncommercial and authentically Thai. The destination is not for everyone; many who end up gazing Trang’s Andaman coastline or frolicking in its underground caves are travellers who have already done the typical Thailand routine.Attractions include an annual underwater wedding, cave systems, and beaches. The beaches sound especially nice: "The beaches in the evening are dazzling. At sunset, people can walk far into the sea and still only be ankle-deep – it looks as though they are walking on water. By night, the tide recedes for meters, and the puddles left in the ripple-patterned sand shine brilliantly from the reflection of the moon."
I think you also have to love that Trang "is undiscovered and very local, which means there is not an abundance of taxis, western-style bars touting European fare or shopping centers to get the latest fashions." Thailand is popular with tourists (it is a great place to visit), but it's nice to get away from the tourists once in a while.
Maybe it's time for a new travel plan - I can revise the Bangkok - Koh Samui vacation to include Long Beach on Koh Lanta and Trang!

Thailand has other much more things to explore apart from beaches. We have created the Volunteer Vacation in Thailand which will bring volunteers to work with local communities, teach and play with children, to have you get opportunity to get in touch with local people. Moreover, volunteers will experience soft adventure up to the north of Thailand.
Make your travel in Thailand a worthwhile experience with the Volunteer Vacation Projects.
Join our Volunteer Vacation Projects in Thailand, in hands of the Mirror Art Group ( www.mirrorartgroup.org) and Duang PrateepFoundation (www.dpf.or.th/eng ) that combine comfort and high quality holiday accommodation, with opportunities to spend the days interacting with hill tribe communities as well as working on local humanitarian and social projects.
Two itineraries for your choices are 14- Days Volunteering in Thailand’s North (Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai) and 14- Days Volunteering in Thailand’s South (Phuket and Khao Lak).
