Passport or passport card?
Does anyone here not have a passport. I just read this article about new travel rules requiring a passport or passport card (or Nexus card) no matter what. The passport let's you go anywhere. The others are limited to Mexico, the Caribbean, and Canada.

Here's the problem with the passport card. It'll work for cruises (in fact, it's sometimes called the "cruise card" because it's geared toward cruisers), but if, heaven forbid, you are on a cruise and miss the ship and have to fly to the next port to pick it up again, you can't do that without an actual passport. You'll give yourself the added hassle of trying to get an actual passport out of the consulate. Unless you ONLY travel to Canada and Mexico, just get the actual passport and save yourself untold potential problems on cruises.
