Missing Air France flight dominating the news
There's no way I'll be able to keep you updated on this story. I heard on the Korean news that a lightning hit might be responsible but apparently Air France suggested that - aviation safety experts have dismissed the idea. At this point let's hope that the investigation does as much as it can to satisfy friends and family members of the victims.
This Australian article questions the safety record of the Airbus plane. I don't see any evidence that the Airbus is less safe than other planes - I think they're just looking for a headline or something.

The real reason for this disaster may never be revealed. Like so many others, it will probably be attributed either to mechanical failure, pilot error, or the weather - no birds this far from land - simply to ease the minds of the public. The media will manage to direct our attention away from other more frightening possibilities.
